ClubSki 30 McNabs Island Venture

Visiting McNabs Island with our ClubSki 30 friends was a lot of fun. The day started out a bit foggy as we departed Fisherman's Cove on the Captains Pride. After an uneventful crossing we spent a bit of time relaxing on the sand beach prior to our hike to Fort McNab. It was used during the two world wars to defend Halifax Harbour and much of the structure still remains along with a few of the old guns.

The fog burned off by noon and we returned to the Garrison Pier Dock to enjoy lunch. Next up was a scavenger hunt followed by some relaxion time while we waited for the ferry. The Harbour was filled with  boaters taking advantage of the idea weather conditions. In addition, we saw a wide variety of vessels that were either docked or anchored in the harbour.

 Operation Gingerbread House

We had our annual family Gingerbread House decorating event this weekend. We purchased a kit containing four small houses and added an addition three icecream cones for trees. Lennon, Jane, Poppy and Stephen really enjoy the day. Our dog Niko was a willing observer and delighted in licking up all the icing and sprinkles that ended up on the floor. After the decorating was completed a snack was in order followed by a visit with Santa at the Bass Pro Shop in Dartmouth.
